Looping Guernsey; A tale of two halves

Guernsey is a tale of two halves.

Half of the coast is cliff paths, expect to ascend and descend regularly, steep and rugged.

Half is coastal, dunes and sweeping beach vistas.

Our intention is to loop the perimeter of the island starting in St Peter Port Harbour Saturday morning and then cruising back into St Peter Port before dusk falls Sunday evening.

They warned us the cabin was on the basic side of ‘rustic’.

What they didn’t mention was the blossom arch from the gate to the door, flowering poppies littering the floor, Gerda the garden knome, the dancing light through the stained glass, the welcome note scrawled on the board in the kitchen, the scandi wool blankets we could pile high on the lawn and lie on the afternoon sun… so content.
